Foundational Wellness Introduction

This essential starting point for every new client focuses on the foundations of lasting wellness: nutrition, movement, stress support, toxin reduction, and healthy daily habits. I'll also address your top 1–2 health concerns (or focus on optimizing your health if you don’t have any specific concerns) and provide a personalized foundational protocol to begin implementing immediately.

Prior to our session, you'll complete a comprehensive intake form that covers your health history, current symptoms, diet, lifestyle, and wellness concerns.

During your session, we will:

  • Review your health history and intake form

  • Discuss your main wellness goals and priorities

  • Create a custom foundational plan tailored to you

  • Explore next steps, including functional lab testing or ongoing coaching

Within 3–6 months of implementing a personalized foundational protocol, many clients experience significant progress — some achieve lasting results independently, while others are ready to build on these foundations for more advanced support.

My approach is not one-size-fits-all. Every recommendation — whether it's functional lab testing, targeted supplementation, or lifestyle changes — is designed to meet you exactly where you are and support sustainable progress toward long-term health. This foundational wellness introduction is perfect for anyone seeking a more integrative, root-cause approach to wellness — whether you're navigating hormone imbalances, fatigue, stress, brain fog, other health challenges, or simply want to optimize your overall health.

Functional Lab Analysis

Functional lab testing goes beyond standard labs by helping us identify why symptoms are occurring — not just what’s wrong. These advanced tools allow us to uncover imbalances and dysfunction in the body before they progress into a diagnosable disease.

🔬 Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis

A detailed assessment of standard blood markers interpreted through a functional lens — meaning we look for patterns, trends, and optimal ranges (not just disease ranges). This allows us to detect early imbalances related to thyroid function, blood sugar regulation, inflammation, nutrient status, and more.

🌿 DUTCH Hormone Testing

The Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH) is one of the most advanced tools for evaluating hormone health. It provides insights into your sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone), adrenal function (cortisol patterns), and how your body is metabolizing hormones — crucial for addressing PMS, fatigue, perimenopause, PCOS, and stress-related symptoms.

🦠 GI-MAP (Comprehensive Stool Test)

Your gut plays a key role in immune function, hormone balance, nutrient absorption, and inflammation. The GI-MAP test analyzes the health of your microbiome, identifies infections or overgrowths (such as Candida, parasites, or H. pylori), and evaluates digestive function and gut inflammation — providing a clear roadmap for restoring gut health.

HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis)

HTMA offers a non-invasive way to assess long-term mineral balance and heavy metal exposure. Minerals are the spark plugs of the body — and imbalances can deeply impact energy, stress response, metabolism, and thyroid health. This test will soon be available as an additional tool in your personalized care.
Functional lab testing plus my in-depth functional lab interpretation pricing varies based on the specific tests selected for your unique needs. All testing is highly personalized and recommended as part of your individualized wellness plan. We’ll discuss which labs are most appropriate for you before moving forward, ensuring each one aligns with your symptoms, goals, and overall health picture.

Why Foundations Matter

We’re living in the midst of a wellness crisis:

  • Approximately 76% of U.S. adults have at least one chronic disease, and more than 50% manage multiple chronic conditions.

  • It’s estimated that only ~12% of adults in the U.S. are considered metabolically healthy — meaning ~% are metabolically unhealthy.

  • Insulin resistance is widespread — about 40% of U.S. adults aged 18–44 show signs of insulin resistance, which is one of the major underlying causes of diabetes and heart disease.

These statistics aren’t just numbers — they indicate how many people are struggling silently, often unaware that deeper metabolic imbalances are at play. Too often, conventional health approaches address symptoms in isolation, rather than supporting the body as an interconnected whole.

Because of this, I require all new clients to begin with the Foundational Wellness Introduction. In that session, we lay the groundwork — focusing on nutrition, movement, detox support, stress regulation, and daily habits — before advancing to lab testing or more advanced protocols. Having these foundations in place isn’t optional; it’s what makes everything else work.

My approach is highly effective because of this commitment to foundations. Often, once these foundations are consistently implemented for 3–6 months, some clients experience such significant improvements that they find they no longer need further support. In other cases, the foundations prepare the body for deeper healing work and make advanced strategies far more effective. Either way, starting here creates lasting change and helps you move forward with clarity and confidence.

FAQ

  • Ranges are based on optimal wellness, not averages from a sick population.

We look for patterns across multiple markers instead of isolated numbers.

Results guide a personalized plan of nutrition, lifestyle shifts, and targeted supplements.

The goal is to uncover the “why” behind your symptoms and support your body’s natural balance before illness has a chance to take hold.

  • I do not accept health insurance. Unlike conventional medical providers—who must follow strict rules, billing codes, and policies dictated by insurers—I’m free to build customized plans for your health journey. This allows me to:

    • Order the specific lab tests best suited to your situation (not just what fits predetermined billing codes).

    • Adjust treatment plans based on your progress and unique needs, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

    • Spend more time exploring root causes, listening to your concerns, and tailoring strategies that support long-term wellness.

Many functional and holistic practices operate on a fee-for-service model for the same reason: it prioritizes personalized care.
